We are Deaf & Hear Alberta.

We are passionate about every person’s right to communication!

We provide:

  • service and technology options for Deaf and hard of hearing Albertans, enabling them to fully participate in society
  • programs and education for everyone to advance inclusive communication, leading to more access and opportunity

We envision a society where the hearing population understands, accepts and embraces the Deaf and hard of hearing.

English – American Sign Language interpreting
Courses offered at all levels to anyone who wants to learn this inclusive language
Adults 55+ experiencing the challenges of hearing loss match with mentors who have walked a similar path
Deaf/hard of hearing (age 55+) receive visits/phone calls from volunteers who want to spend time with you. Learn how to use technology to reach out to family/friends
If you have reached a roadblock, and don’t know which way to turn, we are here to help you navigate systems and find resources!
Mental health counselling in American Sign Language
Deaf/hard of hearing students can apply for an award of up to $2,000 to be applied to an educational program
