A Brief History of Programmes, Services and Organizations for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children and Adults in Calgary
This new eBook publication, compiled by Ann Kennedy and Sheila Cresswell, represents a historical outline of the services and supports available to the Deaf and hard of hearing population in Calgary. Each of the fifteen chapters helps to illustrate the importance of this field and the development of services for the Deaf and hard of hearing communities over the years. It is also a unique tribute to those who have been dedicated to serving Calgarians who are Deaf or hard of hearing. The collective efforts of many contributors have resulted in the publication A History of Programmes, Services and Organizations for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Children and Adults in Calgary. The publication provides a detailed and fascinating perspective of the contributions made by numerous individuals, organizations, and the broader Calgary community in the past and present, to support those who are Deaf and hard of hearing in Calgary.
