Deaf & Hear Alberta is a charitable non-profit organization. Through the efforts of a diligent and caring group of parents, our organization was first incorporated as a Society in 1961.
We are dedicated to addressing the accessibility, advocacy, education and communication needs of the Deaf, deafened, and hard of hearing populations of Alberta. With our head office in Calgary, Alberta and a second office in Edmonton, we excel at communication through the delivery of ASL services, workplace sensitivity training, advocacy and education to Deaf consumers and their families. We provide interpreting, consultation, assessments, and assistive technology. We provide training and education for hearing loss prevention and management; and aim to improve the public’s awareness and understanding.
To bring together Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing Albertans with service and technology solutions to advance access and opportunity.
A world where the Deaf, hard of hearing, and those at risk of hearing loss are recognized and respected so they can fully participate in society.
Lead: To become a leader in Alberta for services to those who are Deaf or hard of hearing, and to take bold positions on significant issues facing our clients.
