About Us
Deaf & Hear Alberta is a charitable non-profit organization. Through the efforts of a diligent and caring group of parents, our organization was first incorporated as a Society in 1961.
We are dedicated to addressing the accessibility, advocacy, education and communication needs of the Deaf, deafened, and hard of hearing populations of Alberta. With our head office in Calgary, Alberta and a second office in Edmonton, we excel at communication through the delivery of ASL services, workplace sensitivity training, advocacy and education to Deaf consumers and their families. We provide interpreting, consultation, assessments, and assistive technology. We provide training and education for hearing loss prevention and management; and aim to improve the public’s awareness and understanding.
Mission
We enhance the lives of Deaf, deafened, and hard of hearing persons by removing barriers and building bridges to communication.
Vision
We envision a world free of communication barriers for the Deaf, deafened, and hard of hearing.
